Alexandra "Alex" Barnes, Legal Assistant

Alex was born in Marinette, Wisconsin and spent most of her early years living in Menominee, Michigan. 

EDUCATION:

Alex attended Menominee High School (MHS) and was a state finalist in Forensics as well as the editor of the school newspaper.  She was active in set construction and costume design for high school drama productions and was the designer of the cover of her high school graduation brochure.  Alex graduated from MHS in 2002.

Upon graduation from high school, Alex attended the University of Wisconsin at Marinette where she received an Associates of Arts and Science Degree in Art and English in 2005.  While at U of W she was on the Dean's List and twice had her poetry published in the university's annual journal, "Northern Lights." 

In 2009, Alex graduated from Lake Superior State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies. 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Alex began an internship with the firm in 2010.  Following her intership, she was offered a full time position as a legal assistant.  She works with clients to provide qualify legal assistance with personal attention.

Legal Assistant:

Catherine "Cathy" Holmes

Cathy was born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan and is the daughter of David and Bonnie Holmes.

Education:

Cathy attended Sault Area High School (SAHS) and was very interested in English and Art.  While attending she helped out in the school library, volunteered for the first time with Young Authors (a program to get kids into reading) as a storyteller/performer, was a part of 6 drama productions as an actress/stage help/co-writer (for one production), as well as co-starting a group for Creative Writing/Performing. 

Cathy enjoyed working extra in the courses she liked best, which included English and Visual Imaging Technology (focused on desktop publishing/printing processes). These courses allowed her to work on various brochures, the school newsletter, playbills for the drama productions, and The Underground Railroad (a publication for Evening with the Arts through Sault Area High School).  Cathy graduated from SAHS in 2000.

After high school, Cathy graduated from Northern Michigan University. In May 2006 she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design with a concentration in Metal Craft.

Personal:

Throughout her attendance at Sault Area High School and Northern Michigan University Cathy tried to use a marketing approach to enhance her education and her artwork. 

Cathy has been very motivated since 2002 maintaining at least 2 part-time jobs, if not more, even while attending college.  Admittedly not as active as she would like to be, she makes a point of donating her hair every year to Locks of Love, and attending The Pink Mile (an event, in the Sault, to raise awareness for breast cancer).

She loves working with people- providing quality, creativity, and cheer.
